Every look starts in its own color, and you can pick yours. Or describe the feel you want, add a photo of your work or packaging, and Claude suggests a look. Buyers see nothing until you save.

How it works

Start with what you already have.

  1. Add photos and details

Bring your photos, your prices and the facts buyers need, like size, material and care. Claude, an AI, drafts each listing from them, or you write your own.

  2. Review your shop

Check every draft, set your stock and choose your look. Nothing is published until you save it.

  3. Get ready to sell

Add a contact email and your returns policy, then connect Stripe, which takes your buyers’ cards and pays your bank. Stripe asks for your ID and bank details, and decides whether to accept you. Then share your link.

You add a photo and a note

Two speckled white stoneware mugs with loop handles, on a white table against a dark wall.

Speckled mug. Stoneware, white glaze with iron speckle. Holds 10 oz (300 ml). Dishwasher and microwave safe. $36.

Claude drafts, and asks

The draft on a phone, not saved yet. Claude asks you to confirm that the listing is for a single mug, since the photo shows two; the mug’s height and width; whether glaze and speckle vary between mugs; and that 10 oz (300 ml) is the capacity filled to the brim.

Below its questions, the form holds Claude’s title, “Speckled White Stoneware Mug, 10 oz”, the price from the note, $36.00, a description and the photo’s alt text.

You answer, then save

  • Added “Sold singly; the photo shows two”
  • Added its size, and “to the brim”
  • Shortened the title to “Speckled Mug”
  • Set the stock to 8

Questions

What sellers ask first.

Every question we’ve answered, from tax to domains.

What does a quiet month cost? And a busy one?

A month with no sales costs nothing. When you sell, we take 2% of each order and Stripe takes its fee, 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card. Our fees stop at $29 per shop in a calendar month, so $4,000 of sales in December costs $29 in our fees. Stripe’s fees have no cap: on $40 orders, that December’s would be $146.

What do I need before my shop takes orders?

Your policies, which are a contact email and your returns policy, and a Stripe account that Stripe has accepted. No Stripe account? You make one on the way. Until both are done, your shop shows your products but can’t take orders, and search engines don’t see it.

Will anyone find my shop?

Not by itself. Featherstall isn’t a marketplace, so nobody browses it for you: buyers come from your links, in your bio, your posts, your emails and on your market table. Once your shop can take payments, search engines can read it, and your products can appear in Google’s free listings if you set up Google Merchant Center.

Can I keep my Etsy shop, and bring my listings?

Yes. Download your Etsy listings as a CSV file and add it: Claude drafts them ten at a time with your prices, and you check each one. The export brings words and prices once, not photos, so you add those. Nothing stays in sync, so if a piece sells on Etsy first, set its stock to 0 here.

How does shipping work?

You set one rate per order and, if you like, an amount from which shipping is free, for up to 3 zones of countries. You buy postage from your carrier, then add the tracking number to the order, and your buyer gets an email saying how to follow it. Pickup isn’t a choice at checkout yet.

Do I have to use the AI? Can it make things up?

You don’t have to use it: you can write every word yourself. Claude is an AI made by Anthropic. It writes words from your photos and notes, never sets prices, and doesn’t make or change photos. Drafts can be wrong about a size or a material, so read each one. Nothing is published until you save it. What Claude sees
